I've never thought to do an underpainting coat before! I'll have to try that, I work with both watercolor and gouache a lot. That orange is all sorts of yummy on that painting.
The groundwork bit is especially thought provoking. A really great reminder that it all counts, the things I do (or even don’t do) today are stacking up towards the future. Love this residency for you (and dear little Trudi).
